Hungry for some mouth-watering planetary cakes

Rhiannon, the self-taught 25-year old chef from Australia, bakes ‘planetary cakes’ that are scientifically accurate in their portrayal of the internal layers that make up the planets Jupiter and Earth.

Jupiter (Top left and top right): mudcake forms the rock/ice core in the planet’s center, almond butter forms the next layer of liquid metallic hydrogen, and finally colored vanilla replicates the outer layer of liquid molecular hydrogen.

Earth (Bottom left and bottom right): Earth’s surface is drawn using dusting powder, cake frosting, gel paste, and immense attention to detail, capturing all the curves and gaps in the planet’s continents.
